Style Wars: Shiloh Vs. Zahara
They’re barely out of toddlerdom, but the Jolie-Pitt daughters are already developing their own distinctive senses of style. Shiloh’s been rockin’ the tomboy thang as of late, now complete with a necktie. Zahara typically dons more girly-girl ensembles, in shades of pink and purple.
In an age of over-styled children, notably Suri Cruise, we must give props to Angelina and Brad for letting their kids dress themselves however they please. Which look do you prefer? Shiloh’s androgynous duds or Zahara’s girly sundress? [Photos: Splash News Online]

I don’t know what she’s thinking and I could care less about a white person adopting a black very sweet of her, but dammit she needs to comb that babies hair!
October 6th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
Angie, if you can’t comb hair then get someone who can. This is ridiculous now. Your hair is always in place and so is Shiloh’s. Why does Zahara have to always look like she just woke up.
October 6th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Amen! I agree with you both. If you adopt a child of any race, then it is your responsibility to learn that childs culture. The hair thing is a big problem!
October 6th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Oh my gosh! stop nit picking them! As you can see Shiloh is wearing a hat, I’m pretty damn sure her hair isn’t combed.
October 7th, 2009 at 8:42 am
to the people who are so worried about Zahara’s hair , Zahara is African decent and she can ware her hair like that all the time if she wont’s ,I am sure Angie is not worried about her hair . and there is nothing wrong with a white woman adopting a black child , to give her a better life . an to who ever the is so worried about , how Zahara’s hair is Dumb an need to get a life , you keep worrying abut your child’s hair while Angie get’s Zahara an education . haha .

I think both children are beautiful and unique in their own ways. I think its great to let them have a choice on what their own true voice/self expression will be. To many damn parents nowadays are stuck in the my child must look better than the next and name brand this/that that their own voice overrides the child having their own voice/expression.

i thought the child was a little boy!! she looking like a boy when she grow up she be confused and want to be a boy! Zahara is beautiful!!

I am shaking my head wondering what is wrong with our world, doesnt anybody have a life anymore? I know I dont but I am in a nursing home on bed rest so I kinda have an excuse.
Who cares which kid is cuter and who cares about the hair? What I care about is that they are happy…from appearances, THEY ARE HAPPY!!! Zahara has smiled the whole time pictures are being clicked away. What I care about is that they are not being abused or hungry everyday. They have more then most kids ever will and most importantly they seem to be well loved. They live in a beautiful home and travel the world when most of us have never been out of the U.S. The issue of race, the singer Pink said it best…”doesnt matter cause we are all pink on the inside!” C’mon fablife do some better reporting instead of creating scandal where there is none.
That’s my opinion…everybody has one

ANGIE NEED HER A– WHIP BABY SHILOH LOOK LIKE A DAMN BOY. SHE IS CONFUSING THAT BABY BECAUSE HER A– IS CONFUSE. ZAHARA NEED HER HAIR COMB SHE IS A PRETTY LITTLE GIRL AT LEASE SHE HAVE HER ON A DRESS
October 8th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
These children look like poor little orphans. They look like street people. Does nobody ever clean them up and comb their hair? This is a shame. If your not going to take the time for your children you certaintly have the money to hire it done.I think these two Brad and Angie stay high most of the time, have no ideal what’s going on in their life. They had and adopted all these chidren and now have no ideal how to care for them. They don’t really even take care of the way they look, another reason to supect drugs. Someone needs to call family services. Maybe Angie Dad will, since they keep the children hid from him. Or what about Brad’s mom? Do you suppose Angie lets her see the children?
October 9th, 2009 at 10:12 am
The kids looks really happy….there is nothing wrong with Zahara’s hair….it is naturally curly…to all the people commenting on it…you all will be the first to say how wrong Angie was if she put a perm in it….FINALLY…THE WHOLE TOPIC IS SICK…COMPARING THE SISTERS….JUST WRONG….
October 9th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
I am a mother of only girls…all of them biological sisters and no two are the same even though I do have a set of twins they could not be more opposite. Only one of my girls like the color pink and loves to dress nice. The others have day’s when they dress up and most day’s I fight them just to get hair brushed for shcool. When we are not going any place special I let them choose what they want to put on that day. I would have no prob taking my girls to the market looking like Angie’s girls do in these photos. They look very happy and glad to shop with Mom. Never should they ever be compared to each other. They are sisters and loved evenly by a Mother who has six children and a heart to hold more than enough love for all of them. Let this family be.
October 9th, 2009 at 5:28 pm
hmm…whats wrong with wearing Zahara hair the way it is. natural is beautiful and maybe she dont want her to grown up with superfical thoughts of black hair. just give her a good moisturizer and keep them ends…rock your natural Zahara!!
Now Shiloh…lawd..tommyboy look is cute if its done right. she doesnt look like a girl at all!
October 9th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Her hair is beautiful natural she doesnt have to a picture for the world to see. The difference between you and jolie is that youre ignorant and she isn’t.
God teaches us to love ourselves and treat others the same. The love she gives to this child is more than words can possibly express or a dictionary can define. You need to walk in love my friend and every child is beautiful.
October 10th, 2009 at 12:16 am
i think it is riduclous that Angliea would keep her sweet little girl in boys clothes…..they are wigged out….it looks alittle racist……lets dowplay the white to the black…..get a grip….
October 10th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Both these girls look adorable. There is nothing wrong with Zahara’s hair. She looks happy and free and absolutely lovely. There are plenty of pictures with Zahara’s hair in ponytails and fixed up - not that the natural look isn’t perfectly lovely. Her hair seems very healthy and silky. Not all African hair is the same. Shiloh is hilarious and should be left alone to play dress up. There are also plenty of pictures from the past of Shiloh in pretty dresses and girlie tops.
Besides the fact that these children are none of your business they are obviously well loved and taken care of. Anyone who suggests otherwise is just engaging in nasty and silly speculation. You do not know these people and you do not live with them.
People need to stop perpetuating a slave mentality about balck hair on little girls. Zahara is lucky she has parents who are secure enough not to succumb to the dictates of a backward thinking hair culture which does more to harm a little girl’s emotional well being and self-respect than any name calling by some racist.
Leave Zahara and Shiloh alone.
October 11th, 2009 at 2:13 am
The child does need a hair comb she looks like a cute boy in a dress.
October 11th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
there are more important issues in the world than shiloh’s hat or zahara’s hair. let these people be!!!! the children look super happy and they both have unique styles. bravo angie!!

I think that the people commenting on Zahara’s hair are idots.
Her hair is in it’s natural state—-and what could be more beautiful than that? Why are you trying to enforce your insecurities and self loathing on that little girl?
October 13th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
I LOVE Zahara’s fro. That does not need to be combed, that is pure style right there. What a cute little kid.
October 13th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Err…maybe I’m just a white girl who doesn’t know any better, but I think her hair looks adorable. Then again, I have a mop top little blondie bear 3-year-old and her hair goes every direction except *down*, so I may have a skewed perspective.
What’s so wrong with Z’s hair here, though? Seriously?
October 13th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
I FEEL BAD FOR SHILOH CAUSE THATS A LIL GIRL SHE REALLY IS GOING TO BE CONFUSED,,,,,
October 13th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
i thought shiloh was a boy too and the black girl is too pretty
October 13th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
all the money they got she should rock hair doe every day dam
October 14th, 2009 at 10:02 am
Her hair looks lovely. She’s black. She has curly hair. What’s wrong with USA? You should criticize Beyoncé’s hair, not this little girl’s.
October 14th, 2009 at 10:39 am
Zahara’s hair is cute and natural (and I give it 2 thumbs up)
I am african american.
October 14th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
[...] Shiloh’s. Why does Zahara have to always look like she just woke up?” writes a commenter on TheFabLife.com. This is not to say that critics want Angelina to perm or hot comb Zahara’s hair. Not [...]

October 17th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Love Zhara’s curly hair! Not sure why everyone thinks it needs to be combed? It looks combed to me - not matted or uneven, etc. I think it is perfectly cute and well groomed.
October 18th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
Comments here sure are interesting. But I’d go ahead and answer the question. I like Z’s look.

You are all ridiculous! It has nothing to do with her heritage. You cannot tell me none of you have seen a blonde or brunette little girl running around with a head full of knots & tangles. I see any number of kids daily with unkempt hair. A few feet behind them are their exhausted parents deciding against the “brush your hair” fight to save their energies for more important things in life. She is only 4! Don’t forget, she’s got 6 kids under 10. Do these kids lack love, food, education, or attention? NO. I have a niece who wore a nightgown to school - ON PICTURE DAY! Her mom picks her battles with this strong-willed child. And you know what? Rather than a puffy-eyed, unsmiling school picture, she had a big, beautiful smile in the “dress” she wanted to wear.

I prefer the was Suri is dressed - as though she has parents who give a damn - who are not just trying to make an anti-traditional, anti-family, gender bending statement like Angelina and her boyfriend.
